Jennie Robinson has led South Huntsville through years of growth, delivering better roads, parks, public safety, and quality-of-life improvements — without raising taxes.
Since 2014, Jennie Robinson has represented South Huntsville on the Huntsville City Council with a focus on doing the homework, building strong partnerships, and solving problems. From transforming the old Grissom High School into the Sandra Moon Complex to expanding greenways, parks, and road improvements, Jennie's record is about getting things done for families and neighborhoods.
A former school site is now a regional destination with a new library, performing arts center, ball fields, courts, playgrounds, fitness spaces, and more.
New homes, renovations, and reinvestment across South Huntsville show that families want to live here — and stay here.
New parks, a connected 15mile greenway loop, and improvements at Ditto Landing have expanded outdoor and recreation options for every age.
Crime is down even as population grows, paving and street maintenance have expanded, and a new South Precinct is on the way.
Jennie Robinson has served on the Huntsville City Council since 2014 and has served as Council President and President Pro Tem multiple times, leading on fiscal responsibility, longterm planning, and community engagement.
A Huntsville resident since 1980, she first entered public service on the Huntsville City School Board in 2002 and has been active in civic and nonprofit organizations across North Alabama. Jennie received the Distinguished Leadership Award from Leadership Greater Huntsville and the Women Honoring Women Award from the WEDC. She holds a doctorate from Purdue University and ran a successful consulting business for many years until she helped start a private foundation where she served as executive director.
While serving on the Council, Jennie has built a reputation for digging into the details, studying the issues, and working with others to solve problems. For Jennie, public service is about investing time and effort to find practical solutions — not headlines.
Jennie has worked hard for her constituents and focused on projects that directly impact daily life in South Huntsville. She believes in building a strong network of partners — neighbors, business owners, civic groups, and other elected officials — who can get things done.
Jennie considers it an honor to serve the community she and her family have called home for more than four decades. She is proud of what South Huntsville has accomplished as part of the largest and best city in Alabama — and she knows there is more work to do.
